About Bok Tower Gardens
Bok Tower Gardens is a 250-acre garden and bird sanctuary in Lake Wales, built atop Iron Mountain - one of the highest points in peninsular Florida at 298 feet above sea level. The centerpiece is the 205-foot Singing Tower, a neo-Gothic carillon tower with 60 bronze bells that perform daily concerts.
Getting There
Lake Wales is about 60 miles southwest of Orlando, a 70-minute drive via I-4 and US-27. BusBrother provides direct charter service from Orlando, Tampa, and Lakeland. The gardens have a dedicated bus parking area near the main entrance.
Group Visit Highlights
The gardens feature the Pinewood Estate (a 1930s Mediterranean Revival mansion), a nature observatory, and miles of walking paths through native Florida plant collections. The daily carillon concerts at 1 PM and 3 PM are a highlight for every visitor.
Planning Tips
Bok Tower is a peaceful, low-key destination that pairs well with a group lunch in downtown Lake Wales or a stop at nearby LEGOLAND Florida. Allow 2 to 3 hours for a full garden visit. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more with advance booking.
